Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026
MyPCS Assistant ("we", "the app") helps you plan a military Permanent Change of Station move. That means you trust us with information about your household and an upcoming move — we take that seriously, and this page explains exactly what we collect, what we deliberately avoid collecting, and how to delete everything.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and a password (stored and hashed by Supabase, our authentication provider — we never see or store your password ourselves).
- Move profile: what you enter during onboarding — report date, current and gaining duty stations, move type, housing plan, dependent counts, and any pets or vehicles you add. This exists solely to generate and personalize your timeline, checklist, and document tracker.
- Your planning data: task completion, document statuses and notes, custom tasks, and any receipt files you upload. Receipt files are stored in a private storage bucket only your account can access.
- Feedback: anything you send through the feedback form, plus the contact email if you choose to include one.
Analytics — and what we deliberately keep out of it
We use PostHog to understand how the app is used: page views, feature usage events (for example "task completed"), and session replay, which records how pages are used so we can find confusing screens and bugs.
We configure analytics to collect as little as possible:
- Your name, email address, and duty station names are never sent to analytics — not in events, and not in your analytics profile. Analytics sees only an internal account ID and derived, non-identifying attributes (such as move type or whether the move is OCONUS).
- Session replay masks everything you type into any form field.
- The parts of the screen that display your duty stations and report date are excluded from recordings.
- Anonymous visitors who never sign up are not given an analytics profile.
We treat this as an operational-security posture, not just a privacy checkbox: we do not want a dataset of who is moving where, and when, to exist in any third-party tool.
Cookies
The app sets authentication cookies (Supabase) to keep you signed in, and PostHog sets an analytics cookie to tell returning visitors apart. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking.
Who processes your data
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
- Vercel — application hosting
- PostHog — product analytics and session replay (US region)
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or provide it to any government agency.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and all associated data — profile, tasks, documents, uploaded files — at any time from Settings. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. You can also email [email protected] to request deletion or a copy of your data.
Children
The app is for adults planning a military move. We ask only for dependent counts, never names, birthdates, or other information about your children, and the app is not directed at anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters — new data collected, a new processor — we will update this page and note it prominently in the app.
